Until now, a league match got a full replay you could watch back afterward, minute by minute, and a cup match didn't. Elite Champions Cup and Domestic Cup ties were fully simulated behind the scenes, same match engine, same 180 possessions, but everything except the final score was thrown away the moment the tie finished. Both competitions now persist a genuine replay, and a "Watch Replay" link appears on the Elite Champions Cup and Domestic Cup pages the moment a tie's been played.
One table, two different kinds of match
League matches and cup matches turned out to live in separate database tables before this, which is exactly why cup matches never had a persisted replay in the first place, there was nowhere for one to live. Giving a cup tie a real replay meant saving it into the same table league matches already use, tagged so it's clearly a cup replay rather than a league fixture.
The bug that tag caught before it shipped
A handful of pages on the site quietly assume that table only ever holds league matches, and filter out friendlies without knowing cup replays now exist too. Two of them actually broke: the Fixtures page derives its matchday navigation from the highest matchday number it finds, and a cup replay's placeholder matchday number is enormous by design, so it can never collide with a real one, which meant it briefly showed up as a nonsense "Matchday 2,147,483,646" at the end of the list. A club's Recent Results on its Team Profile sorted by that same matchday number, so any club with a cup replay had its real recent league form quietly pushed out entirely. Both are fixed now, one by keeping cup replays off the league-specific Fixtures page entirely, the other by sorting by the actual match date instead of the matchday number, so a cup result correctly blends in with a club's real recent form rather than either hiding it or drowning it out.
