Season Overhaul: New Calendar, Faster World Cup, Real Friendlies (1)
Managers,
The Problem
Until now, World Cup qualifying and the World Cup Finals could land anywhere in the calendar and freeze the entire league, sometimes for over two weeks, whether you had a player involved or not. That's gone.
The New Rhythm
Every season now follows the same fixed pattern:
3 days off-season
34 league matchdays, broken up by 6 international days spread evenly throughout the season
International days alternate between a World Cup qualifier and a national team friendly, with 3 of each per season
Domestic Cup and Elite Champions Cup matches now take place alongside regular league days instead of having their own separate schedule, ensuring the calendar never comes to a halt for cup rounds
Season Length
43 days – Normal Season
49 days – World Cup Season
6 days – World Cup Finals
Real International Friendlies
National teams now play real, automatically scheduled friendlies against similarly ranked opponents during their three friendly days each season.
For managers who do not manage a national team, these dates are still short, predictable breaks rather than open-ended interruptions.
See It For Yourself
We've also added a new Season Planner page (available under League in the sidebar) featuring a real month-by-month calendar that shows every upcoming match. This includes both club and national team fixtures for managers who oversee a national team, all in one place.
As always, let us know what you think.
