Hattrick has been running since 1997 and it got a lot right: one shared world, fictional clubs, real people running them, and a club you keep for years. Goal Legends is built on the same idea.
The big difference is the clock. Hattrick plays one league match a week. Goal Legends plays one a day, so a full season, cup runs included, fits into about six weeks.

When Hattrick Is the Better Choice
Not every manager game suits every player. Stick with Hattrick if:
You like a slow rhythm. One match a week gives you days to think about every lineup, and many Hattrick managers love exactly that.
You want a huge, long-established community. Hattrick has had a quarter of a century to build its leagues, forums and federations, and Goal Legends is new.
You already have years invested in a club. Nothing here replaces that history.
A Season in Six Weeks, Not Four Months
In Goal Legends every league plays one matchday a day, at a scheduled kickoff time. Thirty-four league matches, a domestic cup and, for the clubs that qualify, the Elite Champions Cup all fit into roughly six weeks before the next season starts.
That changes how the game feels. A bad signing shows up in the table within days, a youth prospect can break into the side within a single season, and you see promotion or relegation decided while the decisions that caused it are still fresh.
The Same Kind of World
Like Hattrick, Goal Legends is one persistent world, not a private save file. Your club keeps its squad, finances, facilities and history from season to season, and the managers above and below you in the table are real people with the same tools you have.
Divisions are never left half-empty: clubs nobody has claimed yet are run by the game, so every league has a full fixture list from day one, and a real manager can take one over at any time.
Watching Your Matches
Every match is played out ball by ball across 180 possessions, each one a decision by a specific player in a specific spot on the pitch. You can follow it as live text commentary, or watch an animated pitch view of the key moments, and read a full match report afterwards.
Common Questions
Is Goal Legends like Hattrick?
In spirit, yes. Both are free browser football management games with a persistent world, fictional clubs and real managers as opponents. Goal Legends moves much faster, with a league matchday every day rather than every week.
How long is a season in Goal Legends?
About six weeks. There are 34 league matchdays, one per day, with cup rounds and international days slotted in between, then a short off-season.
Is Goal Legends free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser and nothing is sold for real money.
Can I play Goal Legends and Hattrick at the same time?
Of course. Goal Legends needs a few minutes a day, and plenty of managers run a club in more than one game.
