Club Facilities Explained
Every club has seven facilities sitting behind it, each one upgraded separately, each one taking real time to build. None of it happens in a menu you set once and forget: a facility you never touch just stays exactly where it is.
The seven facilities
Training Complex, Scout Centre, Medical Centre, Youth Academy, Merchandise Store, Parking, and Stadium. Each one does what its name says: the Training Complex is where your squad trains, every level adding a percentage boost to how much Experience Points your whole squad earns from playing (see Player Attributes Explained for what Experience Points actually do), the Scout Centre is your scouting operation, the Medical Centre handles the injury side of the club, the Youth Academy is where your own young players come from, the Merchandise Store and Parking are matchday revenue facilities, and the Stadium is, literally, your stadium.
The Scout Centre and Youth Academy are the two least self-explanatory of the seven, since neither one shows up as a line on the finances page the way the others do. They're covered on their own in Scouting & Youth Development, which goes into what a Scout Centre mission actually does and where next season's youth prospects come from.
Levels, and upgrades that take time
Each facility has its own level, tracked completely independently of the other six. There's no shared "club level" that moves them all together, a fresh club genuinely starts every facility at its own baseline and each one only goes up when you put the work in.
Starting an upgrade isn't instant. Once you commit to raising a facility's level, it enters a real construction period with its own start time and end time, tracked separately from every other facility's construction. Critically, a facility under construction still operates at its old level for the whole build: the improvement only actually applies once the work finishes, not the moment you commit to it. You can see exactly what's currently under construction, and when it's due to finish, right on the Club Facilities page.
A facility mid-construction can be rushed to completion early by spending GL Coins, but only once it's genuinely close to done, in the final stretch of its build time. Earlier than that, GL Coins can't skip the wait at all: a fresh upgrade always has to run for real before rushing becomes an option, and the closer it already is to finishing on its own, the less it costs to push it over the line.
The stadium, stand by stand
Your stadium is eight stands, each built up on its own: the Main Stand and the Opposite Stand on the long sides, the Home End and the Away End behind the goals, and four corners. Every club starts on a bare training field, a rope and a rusty fence, and builds each stand through seven levels, from an open grass bank and a standing terrace up to a covered stand, a two-tier stand and finally a grand stand under a floodlit roof.
The long sides hold the most seats and cost the most to build, the corners the least. A stand that's being built works differently from a facility: it's a building site, closed to fans until the work is done, so its seats only count again once it's finished. Building a stand counts as your one construction, just like a facility upgrade, and can be rushed with GL Coins in the same final stretch. You build and watch your stadium in 3D on the Stadium page, where you can also show your crest in the seats of the long stands.
What happens if nobody's driving
A club without an active manager doesn't just sit frozen. Every three real days a club goes unclaimed, all seven of its facilities drop one level. It's a plain consequence of a club having nobody running it, not a punishment aimed at any specific manager, and it keeps happening on that same three-day cycle for as long as the club stays unclaimed, grinding every facility down until there's genuinely nothing left to lose.
Claiming that club stops the decay immediately, on the spot. There's no reset and no grace period either way: whatever level each of the seven facilities happens to be sitting at the moment someone claims the club is exactly what that manager inherits, whether that's close to where a previous manager left it or ground most of the way down.
Where this connects to your balance
Two of these seven facilities feed directly into club income. The Merchandise Store's level and the Parking facility's level both scale the merchandise and parking income lines described in Club Finances Explained, and the stadium's stands set how many seats you have available to sell on matchday. Facility levels and club finances aren't two separate systems here, they're the same club looked at from two different pages.
